Trademark and open source
The trademark protects the name and visual identity of the language, not the code: the fry interpreter remains free software under the LGPL-3.0 license, and this documentation remains available under the GPLv3 license.
The purpose of the registration is to ensure that the language keeps its name and identity over time, and that they cannot be appropriated by any other institution - while the project continues to be open source and community-friendly.
Permitted uses
You do not need permission to make nominative use of the FatScript name, such as:
- referring to the language in articles, tutorials, courses, books and talks
